A wonderful old style restaurant and cafe. serving food all day long. Two stylish floors inside and huge terrace outside. telephone 06221 97460
Nice garden terrace and a good selection menu, but a long wait for a coffee! We waited 25 minutes. No apologies from the rude waitress. Just disrespectful. Never again!
Ok
Today (November 1st, 2020) we sat in the outside area, only to hear after a 20 MINUTE WAIT that this part was not served. There was no sign or sign, just nothing, and the other people sat there unsuspecting until WE informed them. And what's more: no apologies from the waitress. Totally disrespectful and rude. Rossi was my favorite restaurant in Heidelberg but not anymore.
Was there today for the first time, super nice terrace, good menu, and nice, attentive service. Breakfast delicious! We will be back!
With the currently still pleasant temperatures, you can still sit outside there. In the service there is a little bit of staff. My coffee was only slightly warm by the time it came. The apple pie with the coffee didn't come at all and ended up being a gooseberry pie. When I asked, I was confirmed that this was the apple pie. The individual gooseberries really stood out. In any case, there is room for improvement in this area.
Great coffee
Good food and service
They have good lemonade, but unfortunately they seem to be understaffed, so you need to bring some time with you.
cheep coffee,loud and ridiculous service
One of my favorite coffees in Heidelberg !! I love to sit outside in summer and enjoy my coffee ☕ when the weather is nice, you sometimes need luck to get a seat. And when you have one, it is all the nicer to watch the different people ... the service is by and large always very friendly but too slow and gives the guest too little attention! (Can be learned) The kitchen is fine too.
Had to wait half an hour until we were served and then only after calling. The teacup had obviously been used before and the hot chocolate was more of a cold chocolate. Offered us a cake that was already over.
Worst service in Heidelberg! We waited for 30 minutes after ordering our drink, waitress did not show up so we went to her to ask about it. She said wither we should wait or cancel our order. She was rude.
This place has a lot going for it: location is superb, lots of indoor and outdoor seating and an extensive menu In terms of the quality and taste of the food I would say it’s ok, nothing outstanding but it does offer a little something for everyone
The drinks are not awsome but the food is excelent and the waiters are so nice 😍
We had to wait 2 hours for the food ... The pasta with prawns doesn't hold up to any value for money ... The rooms are very nice. Service very nice when someone was at the table.
Operation is a disaster. I didn't get the apple strudel until 20 minutes after I had coffee. When I complained that the coffee is now cold. The waitress said in a rude way, instead of apologizing, that she would then collect coffee twice.
Not to be recommended ......... sat there for 35 minutes without someone serving us, waiters saw us and also pointed out the reservation of the table which would have been in 2 hours, but that's it already!! It's a shame we would have liked to have eaten and drunk something there ...... !!!
Very nice location, the atmosphere on the terrace is really great. The service also went to great lengths. However, the breakfast was only mediocre. You can definitely get more out of this. Unfortunately it wasn't anything special at all and that's actually the reason why you have breakfast out.
Super!!
Price / performance ratio is not right. Example: Beagle for € 11.50 leaves a lot to be desired and is very clear. Fried eggs and bacon were good. Service friendly.
Nice dehors, good food, but undrinkable coffee. Very caring service staff.
We waited 20 minutes and the waitress skillfully ignored us. Unfortunately, your colleague was not allowed to serve us. When I called her to our table, she slammed the menu on the table and greeted us with a warm "so"! After that she continued to ignore us so that we left hungry.
Soft-boiled egg was rock hard. When I asked for a new one, I waited half an hour and they never brought it. Our waitress went home during our breakfast and did not communicate anything to her colleagues. If you have plenty of time and like to eat dry eggs, you've come to the right place.
Food is absolutely terrible. Got the mezze platter, the bread was stale, the falafel was reheated, the couscous was old.
First of all the positives: what I really liked is the ambience and the food was also very tasty. Wait staff were also very friendly. And now the negative on the evening when I was there with friends was that unfortunately there were hardly any waitresses (I know I disagree about the positive) and the second was when I went to the toilet, there was no towels for drying the hands, there was nothing in the soap dispenser to wash your hands. Hence the two star deductions.
Nice outdoor area, friendly service and delicious food. I especially noticed the relatively large selection of vegan dishes for a restaurant without a vegan flagship. There is a star deduction, because you don't get a glass of tap water with the juice when asked.
We ate here last night. First of all: Unfortunately no restaurant for people with celiac disease. The waitress was very honest from the start that they are not specialized and that the contamination in the kitchen is very high, so she advised against eating with celiac disease. Since I value this honesty very much and have seen less risk with a gluten intolerance, I first looked through the menu. You could see allergen “letters”, but these were not reliably available in all dishes containing gluten, as she said, not specialized. Still a shame. The waitress showed a lot of commitment and involved the kitchen for my two selected dishes and explained to me the ingredients that contain gluten. In the end it turned out to be a salad with salmon and prawns and even a gluten-free roll from the breakfast menu! The salad (I'm not a fan otherwise!) Was gigantic! There were a lot of prawns and in the end I was very full and happy! I felt very well taken care of and that is rarely the case when eating out! When ordering, she wrote gluten-free and allergy so that more attention was paid to it. There was also no extra charge! But since there is a gluten-free roll in the breakfast menu, I was a little surprised why a normal dish was hardly possible. Even the NOBREAD burger was marked with an a for gluten. The menu with the allergen information should be revised in any case, so that one is on the safe side [Examples without marked a: tiramisu, apple strudel, dishes with teriyaki (sauce contains gluten)] If only two dishes were switched gluten-free or there was an extra deep fryer for the fries, then you would have covered a wider audience! In any case, I would be very happy because I enjoyed the stay! However, after the meal, the waiters weren't there that often so that we could order drinks again. Maybe it was the time after 11 p.m. Since the commitment and the great effort in the kitchen made me feel positive throughout, there is only one star deduction for the points mentioned: - Incomplete labeling of allergens in the map -No dishes on the menu that can be ordered immediately without possible contamination - Less presence of the waiters after the meal The outside area is very nice and close to a parking garage. Very central to Bismarckplatz and the railways.
The change of ownership definitely damaged Café Rossi. The quality suffers from Saturday to Saturday ... The breakfast menu has been minimized, and there are no 3 dishes from the minimized menu, but a cake fork for breakfast, soft butter and wilted Salad on the plate. The permanent staff is just finishing up and I'm really sorry. I hope they all hold out and the old Rossi times will come back
What a bad experience we had. Where to start. The food was terrible. We had ordered a chicken schnitzel and pork was served. As my kid didn't know it (she'd never ate it before) sbe took a few bites before we understood. It looked raw and therefore attracted my attention. We ordered 2 soups and got only 1. The soup was overcooked. The couscous of Messe was sour and tasted outdated. The drinks ordered didn't come or something else was served. We excepted so many apologies. Terrible kitchen and under qualified staff. When we walked out we saw they are looking for lots of new staff. Says more than enough. I am very sorry we paid the bill. There prices aren't cheap either. I wouldn't advise any one to go there.
Food took forever and was not very good. They apologized for the waiting time but on a hot day, waiting for so long inside is super uncomfortable and the outside area is filled with bees because they don’t have those bee “traps” (they don’t kill the bees, just keep them “busy” and away food and people). Prices were okay (a little high) but the power bowl for example is very sour.
Where to begin...tables weren't clean, waitor doesn't know how to properly wear a facemask (or doesn't care) all drinks were warm and stale. Burger was medium quality at best. They write "coleslaw" as a side on the menu... What you get is literally one spoon full of something that reminds you of coleslaw but what it actually is, I can't tell. The fact that all this comes at outrageously high prices actually makes this a "0-stars" experience...
I like Trink coffee in here, also in the middle of town you can face nature
Super!
Good coffee and snacks
It was our first time at the Rossi and we followed the recommendations of some travel blogs, but we were rather disappointed. Yes it was full, but that is no excuse for unfriendly service. Some things went wrong with our order (a meal was forgotten, changes to one component were only half implemented, we had to ask for milk 3 times) and although we were not to blame, we were told exactly that. That alone can be a slip-up, but the food was unfortunately rather mediocre - not bad, but nothing special either. Therefore, we can not recommend the Rossi with a clear conscience - and will not come back.
We had reserved a table for 8 p.m. at first nobody knew about the service staff ... Only the third lady knew. The table on which our reserved sign actually stood was still completely covered with dirty dishes. After another 15 minutes the menu was brought to us, partially cleared and wiped with a greasy rag, mouthguard was worn as more than chin protection, very loud atmosphere, we waited for another 30 minutes at a table that was still full of dishes ... Service is not going well there ... we are since we still hadn't ordered anything ... gone and found another restaurant .. not recommendable!
In summer, the beautifully designed garden is an excellent place for a cozy coffee. Friendly and capable waitresses coordinate the guest business even with large numbers of visitors. Only that, through the passing street, but somewhat high background noise reduces the enjoyment of the stay. Therefore: 4 out of 5 stars.
This place is really understaffed. The servers were very friendly and they were doing their best but we waited over an hour for our food. Thankfully it was very tasty when it did arrive and the coffee and tea were great as well.
Very slow, terrible experience. They brought the wrong food, we left without lunch.
Nice belle époque architecture in the busy heart of Heidelberg. The outdoor area is comfortable in the warm months. Good spot to have beer and start your Heidelberg experience. And it's not a tourist trap.
Very lovely atmosphere and service.
The drinks were great! The lunch and dessert was really good for me, a wide variety of choices! Definitely coming back to this place again :)
Liked the food and the outdoor seating.
Nice service and location. But food, especially breakfasts, not recommended. Their American pancakes feel just like bread with sugar, not soft at all. Other types of breakfasts have very small portions.
Good, but the menu is very limited
I liked the place and atmosphere
Great selection of cakes and drinks. It was very busy on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Nice, but a bit too arrogant
We literally sat there for fourty minutes while waiters kept passing by without taking our order. We even went inside to ask for someone to come to our table, but were completely ignored. If you expect to be treated like a normal customer, I would think twice before stepping into Rossi.
It was very crowded when we went there but good service.
